HOUNDSds: Phone thou (2012)

El Synth-Pop o la Electrónica suave mezclado con los ingredientes justos de Dream-Pop. Algo así es como definiríamos la música de este enigmático proyecto llamado HOUNDSds. Según parece, surgieron de la mente de un chico de Brooklyn llamado Patrick McIntyre, quien tan sólo quiso facturar canciones de Dream-Pop. Quizás animado, y tras un par de proyectos anteriores: The technology of love (2010) y Los Dos (2011), el grupo edita su primer disco en formato físico, concretamente en cassette (sí, ese formato revivido), en el sello Chill Mega Chill. Se trata de una colección de siete canciones en las que HOUNDSds explora algo más en las relaciones personales expresándose por medio de ese Dream-Pop aderezado con tintes Electrónicos y sintes analógicos. Un disco muy agradable de escuchar y que regalan en su Bandcamp si tú le pones el precio que consideres oportuno. Un ejercicio saludable.

HOUNDSds: Los dos (2011)

Dream-Pop de factura cristalina, temas de estructura envolvente y atmósferas cálidas. Algo así podríamos definir la música de HOUNDSds, el proyecto de un chico residente en Brooklyn llamado Patrick McIntyre, batería de una banda llamada The Stoned Ambassadors. Temas como Alone o Weak son un remanso de paz y tranquilidad con la sonoridad de las guitarras muy limpias, con los Cocteau Twins como referencia.

“I actually found these guys on Twitter which is proving to be an excellent way to find good, new music. It’s a quick and easy way to recommend several artists at once. Getting people to actually go and check them out is really only the hard part. But back to HOUNDSds. I downloaded this EP knowing close to nothing about the band. The only information that their bandcamp gives about the band is that they are from Brooklyn. Other than that I just had to let the music speak for itself. Turns out it had alot to say. I’m actually rather surprised that I hadn’t heard them before because they are really good. Their crystalline dream pop could be described as “bedroom pop” but the band traverses places here that are much farther from home.
